Bichnakandi
is all about nature. From the lush green dense forest on the Assamese
hills in the India side to the narrow stream of water flowing to make
the most of the river Piyain; is a natural gem located on the north
western corner of Sylhet district. Its a famous stone colection point.
The beauty is mesmeirizing during the rainy season. The water is crystal
clear and the multi colored stone will make it up to your memories for a
long long time. Solo or in a group, young couples or old, this place is
going to stay bright in your memories forever.
The way to reach Bichnakandi is however not that good. You can either come here from Jaflong side (which will be 3x as costly as from the other side) or you can hire the boat from Hadarpar Bazar. It generally takes 25-30 minutes to reach Bichnakandi from Hadarpar Bazar boat stand. Be sure to negotiate your price as this destination is on the rise and the locals know well of it.
I would say this place needs more maintenance to
ensure that this is preserved. People are often seen throwing things
and leaving waste materials such as plastic bags, cigeratte butts and
bottles which is really hurting the nature in here. So please bring them
back with you.
